Straw chopping spreaders
for DON-1500 harvester
Eastern part of the Stavropol territory and of the whole North
Caucasus falls into a risk agriculture zone. To provide heavy
crops in this area scientists worked out a system of landscape
farming. One of the elements of this system is accumulation and
rational utilization of soil moisture. Taking into account the
results of wild land research in Siberia it is recommended to
spread chopped straw over the field during harvesting. This provides
moisture accumulation, reduces soil dehydration, and activates
soil microorganisms thus improving soil fertility and fields yield.
To speed up straw decomposition it is shredded in choppers during
harvesting and is spread over a field.
One of the chopping spreaders modifications used for Niva, DON-1500A,
DON-1500 combines is "Pirs-1" for DON-1500A, "Pirs-1-01"
for DON-1500B and "Pirs-2" for Niva combines. These
chopping spreaders are engineered, manufactured and supplied by
Budennovsk Machine-Building Plant.
The difference between "Pirs-1" and "Pirs-2"
modifications lies in connecting fittings as DON-1500A and DON-1500B
differ in their construction.
